1959 Russia to Cuba – 2022 US to Ukraine

1959 US in Turkey – 1961 Russia in Cuba – 2014 US in Ukraine – 2022 Russia fights US in Ukraine

The Russian war in Ukraine is being covered as if it were within our borders. America is funding this war and making every effort to help Ukraine win. Why? Why are we there? Is America just being the “Big Brother” they always claim to be? Does America have a vested interest? I can’t say for sure, but I can remind you of historical events that might help.

The 1950s into the 1960s was a global game of chess.

In the late 1950s, America makes a deal with Turkey to store nuclear missiles on bases. This was classified for decades of course.

US missiles in Turkey

In 1959, Cuba had a regime change that resulted in breaking ties with America. Cuba proceeded to strengthen their ties with the Soviet Union, now Russia. I’m sure the Cold War sounds familiar to most. Tensions multiplied as a world threat wanted to move dangerously close to our border. America was preparing to do whatever it felt necessary to keep Russia at a distance.

1960’s USSR on US border

In 1960, plans to invade Cuba commenced. April of 1961, a failed US attempt to invade Cuba took place, known today as the “Bay of the Pigs.” 1962, Operation Mongoose was a second plan underway, which included anti-Castro propaganda, (yellow journalism), and military supplies to US-created internal gorilla bases throughout the island. The assassination of Castro, nor the regime change was successful.

As US attempts to overthrow Cuba failed, Russia sent more weapons to Cuba as well as built nuclear missile bases. Similar to US presence in Turkey, but much closer. The Cold War and Cuban Missile Crisis moved to our border. Sound familiar?

1962 Stalemate! US and USSR (Russia) strike a deal.

Both sides back down and pull out. The US agrees to remove missiles from Turkey and not invade Cuba. Russia agrees to remove missiles from Cuba.

Fast Forward to 2014 US and Nato in Ukraine

The US is said to have backed the regime change in Ukraine and Nato is often referred to as the US overthrowing the Ukraine government. It’s reported that forces overthrew the Pro-Russian leader and placed a leader selected and backed by American imperialism. This started a civil war in Ukraine between Russian separatists and US-backed forces. US and Nato have been building Ukraine up with military support ever since.

The 2015 MinskII Accord was with Russia, Ukraine, OSCE, and other leaders. This cease-fire on the Ukrainian border has failed but continues to be negotiated through France. Russia feels this accord should prevent Ukraine from joining Nato, which means preventing Nato and the US military from having a presence near Russia’s border. Nato and Washington reject this notion. Ukraine feels joining Nato will help retain border control with Russia, as well as avoid future invasions.

Fast Forward to 2021/2022, Russia and US in Ukraine

Ukraine is getting much closer to joining Nato. Russia is invading Ukraine to keep what they see as a dangerous US threat away from their border. Similar to when America tried to invade Cuba to keep Russia at a distance. Might there be more facts, definitely, but this gives you some perspective.
